Parcs nationaux, cascades, falaises karstiques et fonds marins.

Choisir de voyager au Japon pour sa nature et ses paysages, c'est accepter de quitter Tokyo et Kyoto pour les montagnes, les côtes découpées et les forêts brumeuses qui couvrent près de 70% de l'archipel. C'est aussi caler son itinéraire sur les saisons : les cerisiers de fin mars-début avril, les rizières d'un vert électrique en juin, les érables rouges de novembre, la neige du Tohoku en février.

Sur les quatre îles principales, les contrastes sont saisissants. Honshu concentre les Alpes japonaises et leurs villages aux toits de chaume à Shirakawa-go, classés à l'UNESCO depuis 1995. Plus au sud, le mont Fuji (3 776 m) se gravit en juillet-août et s'admire toute l'année depuis les cinq lacs. Hokkaido offre des étendues volcaniques presque scandinaves autour du parc national de Daisetsuzan, tandis que la sous-tropicale Okinawa déroule des plages de sable corallien.

Nos équipes sur place construisent des circuits qui sortent des sentiers battus :

  • Randonnée sur le chemin de Kumano Kodo, pèlerinage millénaire dans la péninsule de Kii
  • Traversée de la péninsule de Shimokita, dans le Tohoku sauvage
  • Bains en plein air (rotenburo) face aux sommets de Hakone ou de Nyuto Onsen
  • Observation des grues à aigrette dans les marais de Kushiro, Hokkaido
  • Kayak entre les îlots de la mer intérieure de Seto

Le rapport japonais à la nature est animiste : chaque cascade, chaque rocher peut abriter un kami. Nos guides francophones, basés à Tokyo et Kyoto, transmettent ces lectures du paysage que les cartes ne donnent pas.
