Choisir de construire son itinéraire au Japon, c'est accepter de jongler entre les contrastes : une matinée dans un temple zen de Kyoto, un déjeuner de ramen dans une gargote de Shinjuku, une nuit dans un ryokan thermal des Alpes japonaises. L'archipel s'étire sur près de 3 000 km du nord au sud, et chaque région impose son tempo.

Nos guides francophones publient régulièrement des articles depuis Tokyo et Osaka pour vous aider à arbitrer. Faut-il privilégier le circuit classique Tokyo-Kyoto-Osaka en 10 jours, ou pousser jusqu'au Tohoku pour fuir les foules ? Combiner Honshu et l'île de Kyushu en deux semaines, ou consacrer un voyage entier au Kansai et ses trois anciennes capitales impériales ? Ces choix dépendent de votre saison, de votre budget JR Pass et de votre rapport au rythme.
